Environmental Management System based on ISO 14001:2004
ISO 14001:2004 standard enables organizations to establish and implement environmental policies and objectives, considering legal requirements and environmental aspects. Through its guidelines and directives, this standard assists organizations in giving special attention to the environment and preventing harm. Organizations holding this standard implement the following in their projects:
- Implementation, maintenance, and improvement of an environmental management system
- Ensuring compliance with self-determined environmental policies
- Demonstration of this compliance to others
- Requesting certification/registration of their environmental management system by an external organization (CB)
- Determining compliance with this standard and declaring it by the organization
Occupational Health and Safety Management System based on OHSAS 18001:2007
This standard specifies requirements for a specified occupational health and safety management system to enable an organization to improve its performance by controlling health and safety risks. OHSAS professional safety and health assessment standards are developed to provide elements of an OHSAS management system for organizations to integrate with other management requirements and assist organizations in achieving their economic objectives. Organizations holding this standard implement the following in their projects:
- Establishing an occupational health and safety management system to eliminate or reduce risks for employees and other stakeholders exposed to health and safety risks resulting from organizational activities.
- Continuous establishment, maintenance, and improvement of an occupational health and safety management system
- Ensuring compliance with self-determined occupational health and safety policies
- Demonstrating this compliance to others
- Requesting certification/registration of their occupational health and safety management system by an external organization
- Determining compliance with these specifications and declaring the organization
Quality Management for Oil, Gas, and Petrochemical Industries based on ISO/TS 29001:2010
This standard defines a quality management system for organizations supplying products and services for the oil, petrochemical, and natural gas industries. ISO/TS 29001 standard is developed by the technical committee ISO/TC 67, “Materials, Equipment, and Offshore Structures for the Petroleum, Petrochemical, and Natural Gas Industries,” and published as an ISO/TS to specify additional requirements of ISO 9001 for the oil, petrochemical, and natural gas industries.
ISO 29001 certification, considering the specific needs of these industries in empowering and replicating effective processes in product performance characteristics and balancing these processes with organizational environmental conditions, emphasizes key issues raised in these types of organizations. Some of the emphasized issues in this standard include:
- Specialized training of employees and suppliers
- Workplace organization and cleanliness
- Attention to technical specifications in all stages of product realization
- Recording technical knowledge in design stages
- Attention to the supply chain scope
Quality Management in Industries Related to Oil, Gas, and Petrochemicals Based on ISO 9001:2008
This standard emphasizes customer satisfaction and continuous improvement, a set of internationally recognized regulations that companies use internally to enhance the quality of their products or services.
This system focuses on key processes to identify organizational weaknesses and uses existing techniques to root them out as a self-improving system that demonstrates effectiveness over time and reveals improvement trends in the organization’s work processes.
Organizations with this management system self-evaluate, periodically assessing their personnel and operations, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and resolving them based on scientific methods. One of the greatest advantages of this system is its customer orientation, which can identify various customer preferences and, by focusing on them, achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System Based on HSE-MS
The HSE certificate, or Occupational Health and Safety Management, is a management tool for improving health and environmental performance in all development programs, industrial projects, or organizational structures. This standard eliminates unsafe conditions, enhances individual health levels, and protects the environment as humanity’s heritage, which improves the organization’s efficiency and progress. The HSE-MS certificate is the basis of both ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System).
From a safety perspective, this standard includes establishing structured procedures for identifying workplace hazards and exposure to harmful substances, which also involves training personnel in accident prevention, initial response during incidents, emergency preparedness, and protective clothing and equipment.
From an environmental perspective, this standard involves creating a systematic approach to complying with environmental regulations, such as waste management or greenhouse gas emissions, to help reduce the company’s carbon footprint.
Integrated Management System (IMS)
IMS is an integrated management system comprising multiple management system standards registered within an organization. Management systems are developed, implemented, and maintained through a system with processes covering the requirements of each standard.
An integrated management system is designed to manage various aspects of an organization’s operations in line with multiple standards, such as quality management, environmental, health, and safety standards.
IMS comprises three main subjects: quality management, health and safety, and environmental management. The processes required for document control, internal audits, handling non-conformities, corrective actions, and management review can be shared to meet the requirements of each standard without duplication.
